Before he was the most talked about basketball player in the NBA, Jeremy Lin chatted with Fuse about the music he listens to before the game. Among them, he named Christian rapper Lecrae and Australian praise and worship band Hillsong United.
“[Lacrae] raps a lot about the Gospel and about Christian music,” Lin told Fuse. “I enjoy his lyrics as well so if you’re a big lyrics guy I think that’d be a good fit for you.”

Lin further explained that he listens to Australian praise and worship band Hillsong United to mellow him out.
“I listen to them just to remind myself why I’m playing the game and remind myself I’m playing to glorify God,” he said. “I really try to focus on that and try not to get too hyped up otherwise I find myself too burnt out before the game or going into the game playing with too much character. So, I try to slow it down a little bit.”
USA TODAY has reported that Lin has more points in his first five starts than anyone since the ABA-NBA merger, including Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal. As Lin’s game continues to impress, he is actively building up a following. One major supporter is President Obama.
At a press conference Wednesday, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters that they talked about Lin while traveling on Marine One to Andrews Air Force Base.
“He’s very impressed and fully up to speed,” Carney said.
Yesterday, Lin chatted on WFAN about his rising popularity and time playing in the NBA.
“To live it and to be a part of it and for it to become real is definitely beyond my wildest dreams,” he said.
