Ke$ha is hard at work on her follow up to her 2010 debut Animal and EP Cannibal. Currently in the studio with Dr. Luke, the album is rumored to feature A-list guests including the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne, Iggy Pop and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney.
In the latest issue of Rolling Stone, Ke$ha explains what fans can expect from her upcoming release.
“I want it to be a mix of what works on the radio and what I listen to in my spare time,” she said. “I’m on a steady diet of T. Rex and Iggy Pop.”
Ke$ha is known for her party lifestyle and doesn’t deny it but said she wanted to switch things up this time around.
“The first two records talked more about partying, which is a great, magical part of life,” she said. “But some songs on the new record are more personal and vulnerable. And you can hear more of the music I listen to when I’m lying in my bed. I’m not claiming that it’s a rock record – but as long as it’s f***ing good, you can call it whatever you want.”
Though she’s been keeping busy in the studio, Ke$ha still finds time to update her Twitter and let her fans know what’s going on and even shares some lyrics.
