While he admits he hates to be the Grinch, Tony Lucca is not a fan of holiday music.
“The one thing I look forward to with New Year’s is the end of holiday music,” he told CBS Local.
Tony says he does enjoy the classic Phil Spector holiday tracks but just can’t get into pop artists putting their spin on the classics.
“The Phil Spector era of holiday stuff . . . the old sleigh bells in the back. That’s cool,” he said. “I think when the Mariah Carey’s of the world, pop contemporary artists just want to sing Christmas songs, I’m not feeling it.”
All that said, he does have one favorite track.
“I think the coolest one hands down was ‘This Christmas,’ Donny Hathaway. It’s just a great song. Christmas or not, I like that song.”
