According to “Us Weekly”, Jenny McCarthy is in “serious talks” to replace Joy Behar when she steps down as co-host of “The View” next month. (Joy announced she was leaving back in March. She’s been there since 1997.)
The magazine is also still claiming that Elisabeth Hasselbeck is leaving this fall . . . and that the leading candidate to replace her is Brooke Shields.
Jenny and Brooke have both guest hosted several times in the past, and Jenny currently has her own talk show on VH1, which hasn’t been doing very well in the ratings.
If both deals get done, the five co-hosts would be Jenny, Brooke, Sherri Shepherd, Whoppi Goldberg and Barbara Walters, who announced in May that she plans to retire next summer.
