Do you mindlessly check your phone all the time? You’re not alone.

According to a new survey, the average person aged 18 to 24 checks their cell phone every 9 minutes and 50 seconds. And 5% average once per minute.

For people between 25 and 34, the average is about the same, 9 minutes and 55 seconds. But then it starts going up fast: For 35-to-44-year-olds, it’s 21 minutes. 45-to-54-year-olds, 36 minutes. And for people between 55 and 64, 90 minutes.

Apparently seniors are hipper than you think though, and also have more time on their hands. Because people 65 and over check their phone once every 47 minutes.

Overall, the average is once every 22-and-a-half minutes for men, and just over 26 minutes for women.
