The Best And Worst Years for Happiness in Marriages

The first few years of a marriage have so many ups-and-downs, before you both settle into the predictable routine you’re going to follow for the rest of your lives.

A new survey asked people about different milestones in a marriage.  Here’s what it found:

The third year of marriage is the happiest.  You’ve gotten through any early issues, you feel comfortable, and everything is still pretty new and exciting.

The fifth year of marriage is the hardest.  Things aren’t as exciting and new anymore and there’s a lot of extra pressure to either have kids or take care of your new kids.

And the seventh year of marriage is the tipping point.  If you make it to seven years and you’re still happy, you’re probably going to make it for the long haul.
