Eloping may seem like a romantic idea, but, according to this data, not if you want your marriage to last!
Scientists studied 3,000 people married after 2008 to look for correlations between their weddings and the success of their marriages.
While many may feel that a wedding in an intimate promise between two people, the study showed the more people that are in attendance at the nuptials, the less likely a couple was to divorce.
Couples who had a big bash with over 200 guests were 92% less likely to divorce. Those who spent over $20K on their big day were 42% more likely to divorce, but the thrifty souls who managed to feed their entire wedding party for less than $1000 were 53% less likely to split up.
