Adele Just Broke Carole King’s Long-Standing Record

Rumor has it… Adele just broke a huge record.

Her album “21” just broke a record previously set by Carole King’s “Tapestry” from 1971.

21 has now spent 319 nonconsecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard 200.  That makes Adele the only woman who has ever had an album topping the chart for that long. 21’s spent time on the same chart every year since the album came out in 2011.

Adele’s sophomore record is the eleventh longest charting album by a woman, ever, according to Billboard. The chart was created back in 1956.

Most recently, 21 was 103rd on the top 200.
