Niall Horan stopped by Mix 106.5’s Up Close Studio for one of his first performances as a solo artist.
The Mix 106.5 Morning Show, along with about 25 contest winners, were there as he performed his two hits, “This Town” and “Slow Hands” acoustically.
In talking about the songwriting process for “Slow Hands,” Horan said, “I was playing around with the riff. I was listening to a lot of early 80s and funk rock and thought that’s what missing from my album. I started playing the base line and then attached that riff to it. Then we decided it sounded quite sexy. It was all done in a couple of hours.”
After his performance of the new single, Horan dished about everything from what it was like to be on tour for so long and playing stadiums to the song writing process for his solo album and the idea of smaller venues.
He also took twitter questions and reminisced about his time spent in Baltimore!
