‘Stan’ Is Now Officially A Term In The Dictionary

The term “Stan” is now officially in the dictionary.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines a stan as: An overzealous or obsessive fan of a particular celebrity, but it can also be used as a verb. As in, “I don’t know how people can stan for Katy Perry when Lady Gaga exists.”

The term is an allusion to the iconic Eminem song “Stan” — featuring Dido, of course — about a guy who takes his standom way too far.
